this one's for the vacant

i had an awesome time watching friday the 13th (for the first time ever!) last night. i have no idea how i never saw this movie in my youth or in college and i’m excited to report that, while not particularly “scary,” per se, it is an awesomely effective horror movie that, despite its datedness and relative non-brutality, had me squirming in my seat.

i am also excited to report that, in a wonderful twist of circumstance, the birthday “celebration” at my job has been changed from an awkward lunch scheduled for tomorrow to a “friday the 13th happy hour” next month. i have no idea how the fates aligned this way but i am pleased.
