me: i think i would make a much mor einteresting list/mix of stuff i was into this year, as opposed to the "best releases" of this year
me: it's like what we were saying yesterday. i wasn't very current for most of 2009
me: and if i don't mind why should i force it so that i can make a list?

ryan: but the truth is that there was older stuff that was equally important most of the time

me: this year! in feb/march. that was huge
me: and i got really into metal this year which means lots of old records like holy mountain and dopethrone and blues for the red sun were really important this year
me: probably more important than the dirty projectors record. even though the dirty projectors record would probably be in my top ten for the year
me: certainly wire and the minutemen were more important to me this year than merriweather poast
ryan: thats because merriweather poast sux >:]
